Information Report
Vietnam war.
Did you know that war is legalized violence between two or more countries. The biggest conflict in the Vietnam war was between North Vietnam and the USA. It went on from 1965 until 1969.
North Vietnam didn’t like the way south Vietnam was lived a laid back lifestyle. North Vietnam was communist country and was very strict. South Vietnam didn’t want to live like that and thats how the war started.
There were two sides in this conflict. North Vietnam and the Viet Cong were called the Coalition Forces. The USA, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and South Vietnam were called the Allied Troops.
They used a lot of rifles, boats and planes. The most dangerous weapon was a deadly gas called Agent Orange which was meant to burn the trees but it also burnt the people. Six million people died in the war, more people died then than there is people in Samoa and Tonga.
America took away their army from the war because they were anti war. That meant South Vietnam had little support. North Vietnam had new weapons from Russia and south Vietnamese army was getting smaller . They had no choices but to surrender. To show they had won North Vietnam changed the name of Saigon, South Vietnam’s capital city, to Ho Chi Min City.
Not many people know the youngest soldier killed was 16 years old and the oldest soldier killed was 62 years old.

Eastern Beach Recount: Andre
Eastern Beach Recount
When I stepped off the bus, the beach looked liked it was calling me but we had to sit on the ground and listen to Mr Johnston first. He was telling us something important so that we stayed safe. After he finished we started playing. There were a lot of things to play like cricket, soccer and volleyball. The year 7 and 8 students went kayaking. I was so excited I couldn’t wait for my turn. There were four groups, Group A, B, C and D.

The first group went kayaking while the other groups played anything they wanted to, it was so much fun. When the first group finished they went swimming. Everyone was so excited. When year 7 and 8 was kayaking someone accidentally tipped out. All of the kayaking group was laughing and it looked like the kayak was laughing too.
Then the next group had their turn on the kayaks while the first group went swimming. After all the groups had been kayaking we were told we were going back soon. We got changed and sat on the ground in our class lines ready to listen to the teachers.
On the way home we were so tired. The bus ride back was much quieter than the first one. Everyone had a fun and exciting day.
